Hon. PM Shri Narendra Modi has ushered in the BLUE REVOLUTION with Hon. Union Ministers for Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Shri Shripad Naik & Shri Shantanu Thakur, besides the dynamic Hon. Goa’s CM, Dr. Pramod Sawant playing a major role. India has a vast coastline of 7500 km, and its exclusive economic zones (EEZ) extend over 2.2 million square km. This is in addition to the inland waterways, rivers & water bodies. Apart from beach/water tourism & leisure, the blue economy encompasses marine energy, transport, fishing, biotechnology & harnessing water resources. The aims of the promoters of this mega BE 2024 event – The Chamber for Import, Export & Health and The Trinity Group – is to contribute our little bit towards:
India’s oldest premier event for the boats, yachts, kayaks, cruising, fishing, scuba diving & water leisure industry is back with the latest and it includes related sectors like jetties, marinas, pontoons, logistics, fittings and digital systems or technologies. Trinity’s set sail with great gusto in 2004 and the present 9th edition is being held in the country’s ultimate marine tourism destination. The venue is the iconic Goa Kala Academy Darya Sangam Grounds in the capital city of Panaji from – to – June 2024. Apart from the exactly 7517 kilometers long coastline, India has 12 major ports and 187 non-major ports. The coastal economy supports over 4 million fisher folk and coastal communities. Such is the potential not just for the multi-million US$ sailing, water sports or coastal tourism sector, but also for related marine, shipping, logistics and infrastructure industries.
The global yacht charter market was US$ 8.1 Billion in 2016 and is estimated to grow at 7.2 per cent CAGR by 2025. It is projected to generate US$ 15 Billion by 2025. In addition to luxury yachting and coastal recreation segment, is India’s booming cruise market. Among the indicators that India is fast keeping in step, is the fact that a 48,000 sq ft cruise terminal was inaugurated at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh for domestic and international cruise tourism. Cruise passenger traffic rose from 126,000 in 2015-16 to 468,000 in 2019-20. To meet the soaring demand for coastal tourism, the Indian government intends to open three more international cruise ports. Our ports handle about 1400 million tons of cargo every year, as 95 per cent of India’s trade by volume transits by sea. Under the Maritime India Vision 2030, over 150 Central Government initiatives have been developed to focus on port-driven industrialization and creating safe and sustainable ports.
Goa is India’s Most Ideal Boating, Water-sports, Seafood & Fishing Destination, and the Mormugoa Port makes it important from the Shipping, Aquaculture & Maritime Infrastructure Hub point of view. The venue – KALA ACADEMY is in the heart of the coastal state’s capital – PANAJI – and is internationally renowned. It has the greatest potential for domestic and international trade. It has a long standing & well-deserved reputation for attracting business visitors especially from the neighboring states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat & other Southern & Western States, making it a gateway to the world’s largest market places.
Today, no need to travel to Dubai, Thailand or any Asia Pacific water recreation destinations. All major world yacht brands & types of boats or personal crafts are available through Indian distributors.
